JESB raises over £85,000 to support 18-25 year olds with barriers to employment, including those at risk of homelessness

The Jamal Edwards Self Belief Trust hosted its inaugural Gala Dinner on Wednesday 17th September 2025 at 1 Hotel Mayfair.

It was an evening of impact, purpose and #SelfBelief in honour of Jamal’s powerful legacy.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Dovetale, the attendees and sponsors, who helped us to raise over £85,000. The funds will directly contribute to the development of the Self Belief Sanctuary, the Self Belief Launch Pad programmes and the first JESB Creative Community Hub set to open in early 2026.

Guests enjoyed an unforgettable evening with performances from Emeli Sande, Alexia Khadime, Steven Frayne (formerly known as Dynamo), Pixie Lott and Wretch 32, alongside a 3 course meal by Michelin Star Chef Tom Sellars. Jessie J also moved the audience with a surprise performance of “Who You Are”, a song she performed at Jamal’s homegoing, making the moment especially poignant for Brenda and Tanisha.
