As Jamal’s Mum, it is Brenda’s mission to carry on the incredible work that Jamal started, unlocking purpose through Self Belief in underrepresented young people. Brenda became the last woman standing in the semi-finals of the UK’s X Factor in 2005 and she is currently a regular presenter on ITV’s Loose Women and BBC’s Songs of Praise.

Singer Songwriter Tanisha is the CEO of SBTV continuing the work and legacy of her only sibling, Jamal.

Tanisha has been a steadfast force behind the scenes and along with her mother Brenda, she is determined for her brother Jamal’s legacy to continue.

Tessy Ojo CBE is passionate Civil Society Leader who has spent over two decades driving change for children and young people in the areas of social justice, youth leadership and social equity.

In 2020, Tessy was recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours with a CBE – Commander of The British Empire for her services to children and young people. She is the Chief Executive of The Diana Award – the only charity that bears the name of Diana, Princess of Wales and through it has developed internationally recognised programmes that give young people skills to thrive and create positive change in their communities globally.

With over twenty-two years in third sector leadership and expertise in redefining outcomes for with young people, Tessy played a founding role in the building and sustainability of the charity, bringing strategic clarity and innovative approaches leading to a 360-degree turnaround of the charity’s growth and global industry recognition.

Always passionate about making a difference, Tessy holds various influential positions such a non-executive director at Comic Relief, IWILL Board (a partnership between National Lottery and DCMS), The BBC’s Appeals Advisory Committee, the UK Council for Child Internet Safety, and the Royal Cyberbullying Taskforce, where she focuses on social justice and social equity.

Her dedication to fostering social change extends beyond her professional commitments. She is actively involved in campaigns and philanthropic endeavours, demonstrating her passion for creating a positive impact. In 2017, she set up the first All Party Parliamentary Group on Mentoring to advocate for careers mentoring to be part of the Government’s plans for youth engagement and youth social action.

Tim Campbell MBE is an English businessman best known as the winner of the first series of the British version of The Apprentice and now Lord Sugar’s aide on the current series. Tim was awarded the MBE for Enterprise Culture in the 2012 New Year’s Honours List and is the founder of his own entrepreneurial social enterprise, Bright Ideas Trust, a small business owner and co-author of one of Amazon’s Top 10 business books for 2010, ‘What’s Your Bright Idea?’.

With a firm belief in education as a facilitator of social mobility, he currently sits on the City of London Education board and is Chair of Governors at an outstanding London secondary school.

With over three decades of experience in the film and television industry, John is a writer, developer, producer, technical consultant, and studio builder. His journey began as a Cameraman before he established Europe’s largest cinematography rental facility.

In the early stages of his career, John served as a field producer for renowned shows such as Entertainment Tonight and the Oprah Winfrey Show. Over the past 20 years, he has played a pivotal role in supporting over 3000 short films, more than 2500 music videos, and numerous television and film productions worldwide. Notably, he has provided technical support for over 30 BAFTA and EMMY award-winning productions.

John’s genuine passion is coaching and mentoring. Among his initial mentees was Jamal, undoubtedly a once-in-a-generation talent. Today, John extends his support to musicians, the broader creative community, and business leaders.

Reece Placid is the people’s champion, an inspiring athlete with a powerful story.

He has a real passion for designing and has his own clothing brand called Believe & Achieve. It’s allowed him to travel the world and part with his profits with those who are less fortunate. He is a youth mentor in the local community and overseas, travelling to and from countries in Africa to see his mentees. He has real passion and purpose to make a difference in the community. Having lived experience, he has a real, deep understanding of today’s society and issues. He is willing to do all he can to be a part of the change.

Reece also played football at a high level, living in different countries throughout his career. After realising he has a gift for helping people, he returned to England to become the youth mentor for the borough of Croydon in the community and all Oasis schools. He is a real leader and loves to inspire and build up others.

Reece sat on the board for CSJ and played a big part in their annual research report based on young people of today. Reece is a youth ambassador for Street Soccer Foundation, not only does he do work in the community, he works in several prisons serving and helping them grow through mentoring and sports days. He also does talks in schools and at businesses to give knowledge not only on business but also motivation and inspiration.
